It’s safe to say that as the new year settles in and people begin thinking about their goals, resolutions and tasks for the year ahead, an appointment for physical therapy might not make the cut. For many, this type of appointment might not even cross their mind.
Perhaps your goals for 2018 include a change in lifestyle including preventative health care activities such as exercising, eating nutritious meals and getting more sleep. These are great activities to implement into the new year and they should be accompanied by an annual physical therapy appointment.
People often remember to make appointments to see the dentist as well as their doctor for an annual physical exam. Physical therapy isn’t only for those recovering from an injury or an accident. The movement of our bodies needs a check-up, too. We use our muscles and our joints every single day, so they deserve a tune-up to prevent many issues that may arise.

The reason why
The number one reason to see a physical therapist at least once a year, if not more, is to take preventative measures. Throughout your day you are making repetitive movements and motions that may have the tendency to cause a variety of sprains and strains. Maybe your posture isn’t great – but you’re unaware. A physical therapist can help you prevent injuries before they ever take place by making changes ahead of time.
It’s never a waste of time to learn more about your body and how you can take care of it. There are a large number of injuries that take place at home and in the workplace, that could have been prevented with the help of a physical therapist.
Not only is it good for individuals, but it is good for the entire team at your workplace! Whether you’re sitting at a desk or out working at the construction site – there are proper ergonomics to be made aware of and injuries that can be avoided.
On-Site Solutions Physical Therapy can do just this. We join you and your team on-site to see and experience your job firsthand. So, what are you waiting for? Get your annual PT appointment on the calendar!
